Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has proven his talents extend beyond the oche after successfully passing his driving theory test during the World Matchplay tournament in Blackpool.
The 17-year-old phenom, who took the darts world by storm earlier this year, showed impressive multitasking skills by preparing for his test between matches at the winter gardens. "I was revising in my hotel room when I wasn't playing," Littler revealed.
Balancing Act: Darts and Driving
Littler's achievement is particularly impressive given the pressure of competing in one of darts' most prestigious tournaments. The Warrington native reached the quarter-finals before bowing out to eventual champion Nathan Aspinall.
"I passed first time with 49 out of 50," Littler proudly announced, demonstrating the same precision that's made him one of the sport's most exciting young talents. His only mistake? "I got one question wrong about stopping distances," he admitted with typical teenage candour.
Road to Independence
Now that he's conquered the theory, Littler has his sights set on the practical test. "I've got my practical booked for when I get home," he said, though he'll have to wait until after his 17th birthday in January to get behind the wheel unsupervised.
The young star's rapid rise shows no signs of slowing down. After his sensational World Championship debut and subsequent Premier League appearances, passing his driving theory adds another milestone to what's already been a remarkable year.
Fans can expect to see more of Littler on the road - both literally and metaphorically - as he continues his darting journey while embracing the normal teenage experiences of learning to drive.
