Luke Littler Hits Back at Trolls After Players Championship Exit

Darts sensation Luke Littler has fired back at online trolls after his early exit from the Players Championship in Wigan. The world champion lost 6-3 to Joe Cullen in the last 32 on Monday afternoon, despite earlier wins over Martin Lukeman and Jim Long.

Littler, known as 'The Nuke', faced criticism for his subdued performances, which he attributed to the lack of crowd atmosphere on the ProTour. However, he took to Facebook to respond to his detractors, saying: 'Still earned a few quid today while these are sat at home charging their phones waiting for me to lose.'

The 17-year-old averaged just 87.81 against Cullen and 87.31 in his win over Lukeman, well below his usual standards. He had earlier averaged 90 in his victory against Canadian Long.

One fan came to his defence on Facebook, stating: 'All you Littler haters make me laugh – remember what he's done and won in one year on tour. Hate people who rip into people's success.'

Littler, who has already won multiple titles this year, will now turn his attention to defending his Premier League crown.
