Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain, along with the Merseyside derby and further fixtures in April. Manager Arne Slot confirmed the update, stating the Brazilian is 'out for a bit longer' but expected to return towards the end of the season.
Slot said: 'He will not be part of the PSG game either. Towards the end of the season, we expect him to be fit.' Alisson later posted on X to clarify: 'I didn't suffer a new injury. I'm in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April.'
Meanwhile, striker Alexander Isak is closing in on a return after a broken leg suffered against Tottenham. Despite Slot suggesting he could play 10 minutes in the FA Cup clash with Manchester City, Isak was absent. Slot explained: 'It is too soon to expect him in the starting line-up. First time training after 100 days out, it will take time to give him minutes.'
Isak is now hoping to feature against PSG this week. Slot added: 'I see a player much stronger, but 100 days off the intensity of the Premier League and Champions League is difficult.'
