Liverpool travel to Brentford on Saturday with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo still injury doubts. Manager Andoni Iraola has been without the trio since before the recent international break, weakening his preferred starting XI.
Injury update and team news
Szoboszlai missed the Manchester City defeat last weekend with a hamstring issue picked up on Hungary duty. Isak (thigh) and Gakpo (ankle) returned early from international duty with Sweden and the Netherlands respectively. None were fit for Wednesday's 6-3 Champions League win at LASK Linz.
Iraola said in his pre-match press conference it was too early to tell if any of the three would be available, but he kept the "chance open". Ryan Gravenberch is suspended after his red card against City, while Alexis Mac Allister was rested in Austria.
Predicted lineup and key returns
Mac Allister is expected to return to the starting XI, with 19-year-old Trey Nyoni keeping his place if Szoboszlai remains out. Lewis Koumas, who scored his first Champions League goal against LASK, could lead the attack again, supported by Bradley Barcola, who scored a hat-trick on Wednesday.
Florian Wirtz is likely to keep the No10 role, while Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz compete on the right. Captain Virgil van Dijk will return to the defence, with Ronald Araujo shifting to right-back and Jeremie Frimpong dropping out. Milos Kerkez returns at left-back, with Alisson Becker in goal.
Team news and absentees
Iraola confirmed Giovanni Leoni will not return to training until the November international break. Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley remain long-term absentees but are progressing well. Brentford sit fourth in the Premier League and are unbeaten.
Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Nyoni; Munoz, Wirtz, Barcola; Koumas.
Injured: Ekitike, Bradley, Leoni. Doubts: Szoboszlai, Isak, Gakpo. Suspended: Gravenberch. Kick-off is at 3pm BST on Saturday at the Gtech Community Stadium.
