Juventus are considering a January loan move for Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa, with the Serie A side reportedly keen to test his desire to secure a place in Italy's World Cup squad. The Italian champions, revitalised under Luciano Spalletti, have identified Chiesa among several targets as the transfer window opens.
According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, the 28-year-old, who left Juventus for Liverpool in the summer of 2024, is being assessed as a potential addition. However, the ECHO understands Liverpool have not received any official contact regarding a possible departure.
Chiesa has made no secret of his ambition to play in the World Cup, having ruled himself out of recent Italy squads due to a lack of match fitness. Juventus could offer greater game time to help him impress Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso, with the Azzurri still in contention for next summer's tournament via the play-off route.
Under Arne Slot, Chiesa has contributed two goals and three assists in 18 appearances this season, though most have been from the bench. He has only started two Premier League games since joining Liverpool. Despite limited minutes—453 in total—he remains an important squad player with Alexander Isak sidelined with a fractured leg and Mohamed Salah away on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
