Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi this summer, but the Premier League champions are unwilling to pay over the odds for the defender. Guehi, 24, has entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, weakening Palace's negotiating position. The England international is also attracting attention from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United.
The Reds have already made significant moves in the transfer market, securing deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, and are close to signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez for £40 million. However, Liverpool are cautious about spending heavily on Guehi, given his contract situation.
In a related development, Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah is set to join Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £35 million, including £30 million guaranteed and £5 million in add-ons. The move follows Leverkusen's record sale of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Gary Lineker inadvertently sparked speculation about Milos Kerkez's move to Liverpool by referring to the player as a Liverpool member on the Rest is Football podcast, though the transfer has not yet been officially confirmed.
