Liverpool Predicted XI vs Crystal Palace: Team News

Liverpool will aim to recover from their midweek Champions League defeat when they travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

Andoni Iraola's side had shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, but a home loss to Arsenal was followed by a surprise 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahce on Wednesday night. The Reds now face a Palace team that has had less time to rest, with Pierre Sage's struggling side taking on Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday.

Goalkeeper Decision and Defensive Line

Goalkeeper Alisson is under scrutiny following the Fenerbahce loss, which came after an error against Arsenal. However, Iraola was reluctant to change goalkeepers during his time at Bournemouth, despite fan calls to drop Neto after shaky performances.

Alisson is expected to keep his place in south London, with Milos Kerkez and Ronald Araujo set to return to the full-back positions after being named on the bench in Istanbul. Captain Virgil van Dijk and Jeremy Jacquet are likely to continue as the centre-back partnership.

Midfield Options and Attacking Changes

Trey Nyoni impressed again on a disappointing evening for Liverpool last time out, and if Ryan Gravenberch remains unavailable through injury, the youngster could again be paired with Alexis Mac Allister in midfield. The temptation to drop the fit-again Dominik Szoboszlai deeper and play Florian Wirtz in the No10 role may also appeal to Iraola.

Wirtz has been playing his best football since arriving at Anfield in recent weeks. Another summer 2025 signing in form is striker Alexander Isak, whose scoring streak ended against Arsenal but who netted his seventh goal in 13 appearances with his first Champions League strike of the season against Fenerbahce.

Isak came off the bench to score but is expected to start at the weekend. Bradley Barcola is likely to return to a familiar wing role after being tried up front, with Cody Gakpo reintroduced on the other flank.

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Gakpo, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak. Injured: Frimpong, Leoni, Ekitike, Bradley. Doubt: Gravenberch. Kick-off is at 2pm GMT on Sunday November 8, 2026, at Selhurst Park, broadcast on Sky Sports.
