Liverpool close on Brughmans and N'Guessan after Barcola

Liverpool are closing in on two more deals after agreeing a fee with Genk for teenage goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, who is undergoing a medical ahead of the summer transfer deadline.

According to reports in Belgium, the Reds have agreed a fee worth €35million (£29.9m) for the 18-year-old, who stands at 6ft7in. Brughmans had been linked with several other leading European clubs, including Real Madrid, but Liverpool have won the race for his signature.

Brughmans medical and immediate plans

Nieuwsblad Sport report that Brughmans is undergoing a medical with Liverpool, just a day before the summer transfer window closes. It is unclear what the plan for him will be, as reports in Belgium state he will stay at Genk for the season before linking up with Liverpool in the summer of 2027.

However, The Athletic have reported the youngster's immediate future is linked to Giorgi Mamardashvili amid interest from Nottingham Forest. Should Mamardashvili leave, Liverpool would bring in Brughmans to be Alisson Becker's understudy, along with Freddie Woodman, for the current campaign.

N'Guessan medical and Barcola deal

Brughmans will not be the only new arrival on Merseyside before Tuesday's 11pm BST deadline, as it has been widely reported that a medical has been booked for Saint-Etienne youngster Djylian N'Guessan for the striker to join next summer too.

Furthermore, Bradley Barcola's move should be confirmed shortly after Paris Saint-Germain accepted a bid worth £123million, including add-ons. The Frenchman was granted permission to finalise his move over the weekend and is said to have successfully completed a medical on Sunday.
