Jon Rahm Private Jet Rescues LIV Golf Stars Stranded in Middle East

Jon Rahm has come to the rescue of several LIV Golf players stranded in Dubai after missile strikes across the Middle East caused travel chaos. The two-time major champion dispatched his private jet to Oman to collect the group, which included Lee Westwood, Adrian Meronk, Anirban Lahiri, Caleb Surratt, Laurie Canter, Sam Horsfield, Thomas Detry and Tom McKibbin.

The players were at risk of missing the season's third tournament in Hong Kong after flight cancellations across the region. LIV Golf officials had considered routing players via London, but Rahm intervened with his personal aircraft. Some players travelled from Dubai to Oman by bus to board the flight.

A LIV Golf insider described the operation as 'a coordinated effort between the league and the teams' after exploring 'every option'. The insider stressed: 'The only thing that matters is that people are safe.' Competition in Hong Kong begins on Thursday, with Sergio Garcia defending his title.

Rahm's act of generosity comes days after he criticised the DP World Tour for 'extorting' players. He remains the only player not to have signed the agreement between the Tour and LIV Golf, which requires participants to play a minimum of six tournaments, including two specified events. Rahm said: 'I don't like what they're currently doing with the contract they're forcing us to sign.'
