Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has been selected to represent England in the upcoming PDC World Cup of Darts, joining forces with world champion Luke Humphries and two-time world title winner Adrian Lewis.
The 17-year-old phenom, who took the darts world by storm with his incredible performances earlier this year, will make his World Cup debut in Frankfurt this June. The tournament runs from June 27-30 at the Eissporthalle venue.
A Dream Team for England
The England squad boasts an impressive lineup with Humphries currently ranked world number one and Lewis bringing his wealth of experience to the team. Littler's inclusion adds an exciting wildcard element to the trio.
"Having Luke Littler in our team brings incredible energy and talent," said Humphries. "Together with Adrian's experience, we believe we have what it takes to bring the trophy home."
Littler's Meteoric Rise
Littler's selection caps off a remarkable year for the young player who reached the World Championship final in January at just 16 years old. His performances have drawn comparisons to some of the sport's all-time greats.
The World Cup format sees teams of two or three players competing in singles and doubles matches, with England among the favorites for this year's tournament. Wales will defend their title with Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton returning to action.
Tournament Expectations
Darts fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be one of the most competitive World Cups in recent memory. The England team's combination of youth and experience could prove decisive in the high-pressure environment of international competition.
With the tournament just weeks away, all eyes will be on how this exciting England lineup performs on the global stage.
