Argentinian TV journalist Angel de Brito reported that Messi's mother, Celia Cuccittini, confirmed Maria Sol is out of danger but requires a long period of rehabilitation. De Brito stated on the programme LAM that Maria Sol has two fractured vertebrae, a fractured heel and wrist, and burns. He initially thought the burns came from a motorbike accident, but this remains unconfirmed.
Maria Sol was due to marry Julian 'Tuli' Arellano, a member of Inter Miami's under-19 coaching staff, in Rosario. The wedding will now be rescheduled.
