Manchester United return to Premier League action today with a trip to fierce rivals Leeds, as Michael Carrick's side look to end a five-game winless run. United have picked up just two victories so far this season after an uplifting end to the 2025/26 campaign.
Martinez fallout and team news
Lisandro Martinez's bombshell interview after the defeat to Atletico Madrid has given Old Trafford chiefs plenty to think about. Martinez has since apologised for his outburst, with Carrick saying on Friday: "It's done, really. Moved on from that. It was one of those things. We all understood the situation and what it meant. Lisandro obviously made his statement, and he acknowledges that it was a mistake from him, and that was it."
In terms of team news, Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo will face late fitness tests, but Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out.
How to watch and kick-off time
Today's game will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Ultra. The clash at Elland Road kicks off at 2pm.
United have picked up just two wins from nine games, and there is plenty of pressure on the United head coach to turn things around. Today could be the start of United's revival or it could be another step towards the exit door for Carrick.
