Leart Kabashi: I can reach next level at Hearts

Leart Kabashi has completed a four-year move to Hearts from Grasshopper Zurich, becoming the Jambos' 13th summer signing. The Switzerland U19 international insists he is ready to reach the next level with the Edinburgh club after a six-figure fee was agreed between the sides.

Kabashi's breakthrough campaign

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder came through the Grasshopper academy and has six top-team appearances to his name. He netted 13 goals for the club's U19 and U21 sides in a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign that pushed him into the first-team picture.

Kabashi made his first-team debut in February 2025 and scored his first senior goal in his second appearance, a 5-0 win over Yverdon Sport.

Excitement at Tynecastle move

Kabashi can't wait to get started at Tynecastle under Wouter Vrancken. He told Hearts TV: "I'm really excited to play for this beautiful club. What attracted me was the tradition, the fans and the beautiful city that convinced me this was the right step for me. I can make the next step in my career here."

Reflecting on his time in Switzerland, he added: "I loved it at Grasshopper. I was 14 years there. It was a great time. It was very important I had some playing time in the first team there. Grasshopper did really good for me. But I can't wait for my first minutes here."

What he brings to the Jambos

Kabashi is now looking to make a fast start to life in the Scottish Premiership. He said: "I'm a fast player on the ball with good technique and good finishes. I'm a team player who gives all the for team and a big mentality."
