Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has quickly established himself as first choice since his £18.2 million move from Royal Antwerp last September. The 23-year-old Belgian has impressed both on the pitch and behind the scenes, earning praise from legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Lammens has implemented a strict superstition in the dressing room: he bans any talk of clean sheets before matches. His former goalkeeper coach at Antwerp, Brian Vandenbussche, revealed that Lammens has specific pre-match rituals, including a fist bump with his fellow goalkeepers and coach in a set order.
Sir Alex Ferguson described Lammens as 'outstanding' in an interview with Raceday RTV. Lammens told the club's official podcast he was surprised by the praise, saying: 'Coming from him, it's really nice to hear... someone with so much experience and such a big name at this club.'
Off the pitch, Lammens is reportedly among the first to arrive for training and often the last to leave, regularly undertaking extra sessions focused on distribution and other aspects of his game. Club officials are said to be impressed by his dedication, with no negative comments made about him since his arrival.
