Jackson shines on return as Ravens rout Dolphins

Lamar Jackson threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns as the Baltimore Ravens secured a dominant 28-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. The quarterback, returning from a hamstring strain for the first time since Week 4, completed 18 of 23 passes in a display that showed little sign of rust.

Jackson's performance helped Baltimore record their second consecutive win and strengthen their position in the wide-open AFC North. Despite their slow start to the season, the Ravens now trail the division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers and face only one team with a winning record in their next six games. The team is aiming to become just the fifth in NFL history to reach the playoffs after losing five of their first six matches.

Tight end Mark Andrews caught two of Jackson's touchdown passes, with the other scores going to Charlie Kolar and Rashod Bateman. Running back Derrick Henry added 119 rushing yards on 19 carries, surpassing the 12,000-yard career rushing milestone. For Miami, De'Von Achane rushed for 67 yards on 14 carries, while Jaylen Waddle made six receptions for 82 yards.

The Dolphins outgained the Ravens 226 yards to 109 in the first half but trailed 14-6 at the break due to a series of costly errors. A fumble by rookie Tahj Washington set up one Baltimore score, while a missed field goal and a crucial false start further hampered Miami's efforts. Head coach Mike McDaniel admitted: “You’re playing with fire when you’re giving the ball back to that offense.”

Miami's only points came from two Riley Patterson field goals, and they also suffered injuries to linebacker Chop Robinson (concussion) and rookie running back Ollie Gordon II (ankle). Tua Tagovailoa completed 25 of 40 passes for 261 yards with an interception, but the Dolphins could not overcome their three turnovers.
