Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has recovered from his minor injury and is back available for England.
Konsa was an unused substitute for Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in the Nations League after feeling a minor injury in the aftermath of last Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Spain, in which he started.
Konsa trains ahead of Croatia trip
The centre-back, who joined Arsenal from Aston Villa for £51million this summer, is expected to be available for England's away game in Croatia on Saturday after taking part in the group training session at the home of Croatian club HNK Rijeka on Friday.
That could come as a boost for Arsenal, too, with the Gunners no doubt hoping he is available for their first match after the international break when they host Leeds in the lunchtime kick-off on October 10.
Tuchel's squad update
England head coach Tuchel was asked after Friday's training session about the availability within his squad.
“It seems that Ezri Konsa is back,” Tuchel said. “He did the full training today and this is of course a lot of hope for tomorrow, because he is a key player for us.
“Nico O'Reilly our left-back left the camp, and on the right side [of centre-back], we have some competition and Marc [Guehi] should be ready to go and very likely to start.”
O'Reilly returns to Manchester City
O'Reilly was left out of the squad against the Czech Republic after an injury and has since returned to Manchester City. He will play no part against Croatia on Saturday nor next Tuesday in the home game against the Czechs.
“He unfortunately had to leave camp to get treatment as soon as possible,” Tuchel said of O'Reilly. “With his discomfort, it was just too painful. He could not come back on the pitch. He is the only one who is not available. Everyone else started training and finished training today [Friday].”
