Clarkson's Farm season five is almost back, but it is not looking good for one member of Diddly Squat Farm. Ahead of the launch of the new series, fans got their first look at the forthcoming run on ITV's Good Morning Britain today, Monday, May 18.
Rounding off Richard Arnold's entertainment segment was footage from the season five trailer as the broadcaster teased: "It is back on Amazon Prime on the 3rd June, we are talking Jeremy Clarkson's Farm. We have had it all over the years and now he has got a robotic tractor and that is my mic drop for today."
The teaser preview then saw Jeremy sitting in his office and talking to Charlie Ireland: "I have had a brainwave, do not worry." He then handed Charlie a piece of paper, to which he responded: "You are going to have a driverless tractor?"
The footage cut to said tractor working away on the land and Jeremy declaring to farmhand Kaleb Cooper: "Behold my technology at work."
"That is basically taking my job," said a dismayed Kaleb as he watched the robotic tractor at work.
"That is the Starship Enterprise of farming," replied Jeremy. But it seems the former Top Gear host spoke too soon as the machine came to a grinding halt in the middle of ploughing a field.
"That went well," Kaleb quipped as it looked like he had not been replaced quite yet.
The trailer went on to feature Jeremy telling Kaleb that he has "got to go" after finding out his wife is in labour. However, the ever-diligent Kaleb says: "Not yet, I will finish this field."
As the clip came to an end, Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid praised the programme: "It is a brilliant show, absolutely fantastic."
The new series was greenlit by Prime Video back on November 5, 2024, and filming took place last year. Season five, like the last outing, will be split into several parts that will be coming out on consecutive weeks. The first batch drops on June 3, part two arrives on June 10, and the third and final bloc lands on June 17. The new outing will comprise eight episodes in total.
A synopsis for the upcoming fifth season reads: "Clarkson's Farm is back, and amidst a government budget that sends the UK farming community into uproar, Jeremy decides some big changes are needed to make the farm run more smoothly. But while the farm tries to go high-tech - resulting in Kaleb's first ever trip abroad - even bigger developments are heading for Diddly Squat that are going to prove much more of a challenge."
Clarkson's Farm season 5 will premiere on Prime Video on June 3.
