Snooker world champion Judd Trump has revealed he is effectively homeless despite an estimated net worth of £10 million, after fleeing Dubai due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The 36-year-old, who relocated to the UAE from the UK in early 2025, says he cannot return to his Dubai home for fear of being trapped amid retaliatory attacks following US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Trump, who won the World Snooker Championship in 2019 and has over 30 ranking titles, has been living in hotels for weeks. Speaking at the World Open in Yushan, China, he said: 'I had to leave [Dubai] so we went to Bangkok. It's a bit up in the air at the moment. I don't really think I can go back, just in case I get stuck there. Just kind of looking for somewhere else to live.'
The snooker star, who also maintains dual residency in Hong Kong, described the situation as 'difficult' and 'not nice'. He added: 'Every day is different. Just living in a hotel for the last few weeks. It's not nice to be not at home, not knowing what you're going to do.' His brother was initially stuck in Dubai but has since managed to leave.
Trump is now considering basing himself in Bangkok ahead of the 2026 World Snooker Championship, ruling out a return to the UK due to limited time there. 'I don't really know where I'm going to be at that point,' he admitted. Despite the upheaval, he has continued to practise in Thailand and maintain his form, having won the German Masters in February.
