Liverpool teenager Josh Abe scored on his first appearance for the under-21s in a friendly against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. The 16-year-old winger struck the equaliser with 13 minutes remaining to secure a 2-2 draw for Rob Page's side at the AXA Training Centre.
Abe's rise through the ranks
Abe committed his future to Liverpool earlier this summer amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. He was subsequently part of the senior squad for the recent US tour, where he featured against Sunderland and Wrexham.
The youngster made his U18s debut last September and became the youngest player to feature for the Reds in the UEFA Youth League aged just 15 in February. He is expected to be given further opportunities at U21 level this season.

Oliver O'Connor, the 18-year-old midfielder who recently signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, put the hosts ahead early on when finishing a Joe Bradshaw cross from close range. After Huddersfield turned the game around to lead by the interval, Abe scored a fine leveller when, after accepting a pass on the left flank from Josh Sonni-Lambie, he beat one defender and held off another before delivering an angled finish.
