The Ryder Cup celebrations have begun at Bethpage Black in New York with an All-Star Match featuring eight American and eight European celebrities. The two teams will compete in a two-man scramble format over ten holes, with one point awarded per winning hole and half a point for a tie. A trophy presentation will follow on the 18th green.
Team USA includes country singer Kane Brown, chef Bobby Flay, comedian Colin Jost, singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, Grammy winner Miranda Lambert, NFL legend Eli Manning, tennis icon John McEnroe, and TV personality Michael Strahan. The European team features chef José Andrés, model Brooklyn Beckham, actors Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, and former NBA star Pau Gasol.
John McEnroe, a seven-time Grand Slam winner and BBC commentator, joins the American side. Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP with the New York Giants, also represents the USA. The European lineup includes Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, an Oscar-winning Welsh actress.
The All-Star Match sets the tone for the main Ryder Cup event, with both teams aiming to claim early bragging rights. The friendly competition brings together stars from music, sport, and entertainment, all united by their love of golf.
