James Maddison is closing in on a return to action after six months out with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, according to Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Igor Tudor. The 29-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since August after suffering the injury in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United.
In a TikTok update, Maddison gave fans a glimpse into his rehabilitation, including the use of a motion capture suit that allows sports scientists to analyse his range of motion following ACL reconstruction. The footage shows him taking part in fast sprints, hops, and change-of-direction drills.
Tudor was upbeat when asked about Maddison's potential return before the end of the season. “Yes, he is already doing interesting things with the ball, sprinting as well,” Tudor said on Friday.
The news will be a boost for Tottenham fans, who have seen their team struggle in Maddison's absence. The midfielder has been a key player since joining the club, and his return could provide a significant lift for the final weeks of the campaign.
