Jake Paul has revealed he has undergone a second surgery on his jaw, two months after being knocked out by Anthony Joshua in their boxing match. The American influencer-turned-boxer suffered a broken jaw in the December bout, which required immediate surgery, and has now had further treatment after screws and plates came loose.
Paul, 29, shared the news on Instagram, saying, 'Had to get another jaw surgery. The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months.' He posted photos and videos from hospital, including clips of a mechanised jaw, joking about his recovery.
Meanwhile, Joshua, 36, has faced a more sombre period despite his victory. Ten days after the fight, he was involved in a car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his teammates. He returned to training in January but his competitive future remains uncertain.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested a possible summer return for Joshua, targeting July, though a fight with Tyson Fury is now unlikely until late 2026 or early 2027. Hearn also mentioned rumours of a bout with unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, who has beaten Joshua twice.
