Matthias Jaissle made five changes for Newcastle United's clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with Malick Thiaw and Sven Botman dropped to the bench and two players left at home on Tyneside.
Lewis Miley suffered a knock in training in the build-up to the game, while Matias Fernandez-Pardo is still recovering from an illness which forced him off last week. Miley's injury is not thought to be serious after he picked it up in training and he is set to return soon.
Reorganised defence and recalled starters
Jaissle brought Amar Dedic back into the starting line-up, while William Osula started the game in attack. Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga were named among the substitutes for the encounter with the Eagles.
A Newcastle statement read: "The Magpies head coach has shuffled his pack, bringing Dan Burn and Fabian Schar into the side for their first league starts of the season as part of a reorganised back four, with Amar Dedic also back in the side."
"Jacob Murphy is also in the line-up at Selhurst Park, with Will Osula in from the outset for the first time since he hobbled off on the opening day of the campaign against Liverpool."
Bench and midfield setup
Sven Botman, Malick Thiaw and Yoane Wissa revert to the bench, with Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley not part of the squad for the clash with the Eagles.
"Nico Gonzalez partners Joelinton in the middle of the park, with Joe Willock in an advanced role and Murphy and Harvey Barnes on the flanks while Osula leads the line," the statement added.
Anthony Elanga will hope to make a first appearance since early September after being named on the bench following recovery from injury, with Jacob Ramsey also back in the squad. Nick Pope, Aladji Bamba, Sean Steur and Bazoumana Touré are also among the substitutes.
Jaissle explains Fernandez-Pardo absence
Speaking about Fernandez-Pardo's absence last week, Jaissle said: "During the match he was not feeling 100%. He has been suffering with a sickness feeling. So you also need to consider that."
The line-up named by Jaissle shows the manager's ruthless side after calls that he was set in his ways following two defeats.
