Igor Tudor Agrees to Tottenham Interim Manager Role
Igor Tudor has reportedly agreed to become the interim manager of Tottenham Hotspur until the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. This development follows the club's decision to dismiss Thomas Frank on Wednesday after a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United.
Club in Crisis After Dismal Run
The loss to Newcastle left Tottenham languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table, a mere five points above the relegation zone. In response to this precarious position, the club's hierarchy has moved swiftly to secure an experienced interim head coach, with plans to make an appointment by Monday.
With no weekend fixture scheduled due to their FA Cup exit in January, Tottenham's players have been granted time off until Monday. It is anticipated that Tudor, aged 47, will be in place to greet the returning squad as they prepare for the final three months of the campaign.
Tudor's Managerial Background
The former Croatia international brings a wealth of experience from various European clubs. His most recent role was at Juventus, where he was dismissed in October following an eight-match winless streak. Prior to his six-month stint with the Italian giants, Tudor held managerial positions at Galatasaray, Udinese, Marseille, and Lazio.
Tottenham's strategy involves appointing an interim manager for the remainder of the season before evaluating a broader pool of candidates for a permanent role. This pool is expected to include former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, once his commitments with the United States at the World Cup conclude.

Reports had also linked Marco Rose, formerly of RB Leipzig, and ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic to the interim position. However, Tudor has emerged as the preferred choice to steer the club through this challenging period.

Tottenham's next fixture is a highly anticipated north London derby at home against rivals Arsenal on February 22, which will likely be Tudor's first match in charge if the appointment is confirmed.
