Hearts extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 10 points despite playing with 10 men for over an hour in a 2-0 win over St Mirren. Craig Halkett was sent off in the 29th minute for denying a goalscoring opportunity, but goals from Liam Boyce and Josh Ginnelly secured the victory.
The win moves Hearts to 55 points, 10 clear of second-placed Rangers, who have a game in hand. St Mirren remain in ninth place with 28 points.
Boyce opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after a handball in the box. Ginnelly doubled the lead in the 67th minute with a composed finish after a counter-attack.
Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon made several key saves to preserve the clean sheet, including a late stop from a Greg Kiltie header.
