Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, known for his remarkable goal-scoring record, has revealed details of his fitness regime and diet in a rare interview. The 25-year-old Norwegian, who averages nearly a goal per game for club and country, spoke to Men's Health about how he maintains peak condition.
Haaland emphasised the importance of staying present and not dwelling on the past. 'It's about looking ahead and staying in the present. You don't think too much about what will or will not happen, you just try be in the moment and stay positive,' he said. The striker also highlighted the value of enjoying life's small moments, noting that life goes quickly.
On his diet, Haaland revealed a love for pasta and fish, particularly Norwegian salmon. He also enjoys steak after every game, which he considers healthy rather than a cheat meal. For indulgence, he opts for tacos made with healthy ingredients. 'I try to make cheat meals as healthy as possible,' he added.
Haaland discussed his training routine, which includes daily on-field sessions and gym work to maintain strength and agility. 'With a big body it's not the easiest. It's important to warm up well, do gym exercises to stay sharp and ready,' he explained. He also noted that facing tough defenders at Manchester City helps him improve.
The striker has teamed up with Marriott Bonvoy and Visa for a World Cup campaign called For Fans, Everywhere, offering 600 ticket packages for all 104 games of the tournament. Highlights include a Sleepover Suite experience for the final, allowing two fans to stay overnight in a converted luxury box at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
When asked about his goal celebrations, Haaland said he doesn't plan them but likes his 'meditation celebration.' He also tipped France, Spain, and Portugal as strong contenders for the World Cup, praising France's consistent performances and Portugal's potential.
