Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been photographed apparently using his mobile phone while driving a white Rolls-Royce Cullinan near the Etihad Stadium. The images, published by The Sun, show the Norwegian forward holding a smartphone in his left hand while his right hand rests on the steering wheel.
The incident occurred on a dual carriageway in New Islington, Manchester, a day after Haaland scored five goals for City against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Using a phone while driving carries a penalty of six points and a £200 fine in the UK, with stricter laws introduced last year.
Former transport secretary Grant Shapps previously stated a zero-tolerance approach to such offences, aiming to improve road safety. Haaland has not commented on the matter.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann questioned whether Haaland makes Manchester City better overall, suggesting Napoli's Victor Osimhen is a superior all-round striker. Haaland has scored 42 goals this season since joining from Borussia Dortmund.
