Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is feeling 'much better' after a minor training knock but will be assessed following Tuesday's training session before a decision is made on his availability for the Nottingham Forest clash, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed.
Haaland missed Saturday's 1-0 victory at Leeds United due to the injury sustained on Thursday. Guardiola said: 'He feels much better but we didn't train yesterday. Now we have training and will decide today.'
The Norwegian's potential return comes as City aim to reduce the five-point gap to Arsenal in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Nico O'Reilly, who hobbled off with an ankle complaint against Leeds, was able to participate in Sunday's recovery session.
City's injury list has shortened, with Jeremy Doku and Savinho returning to match action at Leeds. Only Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol remain sidelined, with Guardiola optimistic that Kovacic has resumed training.
City face Forest on Wednesday before crucial matches against Newcastle in the FA Cup on Saturday and the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Real Madrid. Guardiola described being in all competitions in March as a 'privilege'.
