A 14-year-old football fan has described the moment Manchester City star Jack Grealish hugged her as 'amazing', after the encounter went viral on social media.
Abbie and her mother Zoe met Grealish at the Etihad Stadium before City's FA Cup match against Fulham. The England international noticed Abbie in the reception area, signed her shirt, and leaned down to her wheelchair for a hug.
'He smells really nice,' Abbie told the BBC. Her mother Zoe added: 'It was amazing, absolutely brilliant. I was crying, Abbie was crying, all the staff were crying. For Jack to take the time out to come over to her, I've just never experienced as much joy in my life.'
The video, viewed thousands of times online, shows Grealish autographing the shirt before embracing Abbie, leaving her visibly emotional. Abbie, from Seaham in County Durham, has been a fan since watching Grealish play for England in the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
Zoe said: 'She's always liked him, she's just had this major, big crush on Jack Grealish ever since England were playing.' Manchester City won the match 4-1, advancing to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
