Oliver Glasner has admitted he could be sacked as Nottingham Forest manager unless results improve, after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Brentford left the club second bottom of the Premier League table. The Austrian, who was appointed in the summer, has picked up just one win since taking charge.
The 52-year-old former Crystal Palace boss became Forest's fifth manager in less than a year after the club narrowly avoided relegation last season. He described the current situation as 's***' and vowed to make 'no compromises' in his bid to turn things around.
Glasner's Frustration After Brentford Defeat
"Just talking about the result today, and it's disappointing and frustrating," Glasner said. "And we have to accept it's not good enough.
"If you lose four of the last five games, it's not good enough. And that's why for me, it's now time that we change things, that I change things, and that's what I will do.
"I feel I could see a few things from day number one. I feel now maybe I made too many compromises in some stuff. And it's always compromises. It's a clear way. I will tell what we want to do, what we have to do."
Warning to Players and Owner
Glasner warned that if his methods do not work, the club could turn to a sixth manager. "And if the players buy in, I think we can have a turnaround. And if not, the sixth manager will come in. I have no consequences. I think you see that. For me, I go home and have breakfast with my family.
"Nobody needs to have pity with Oliver Glasner. If I want, I could start in two weeks somewhere else. I won't do it. But the players, the staff, they remain in the same situation.
"And it's the same, sorry for the word, s**** situation that the club had last year. So you need to change and rebuild from the bottom to the top.
"And this is clear for me. And this is what I will do. And without any compromises. Zero, zero. And if these things don't work, they will let me know."
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has a reputation for being ruthless with managers, while Glasner has previously had high-profile disagreements at former clubs Palace, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, which led to his departure at each. Forest's final game before the international break is a home match against Manchester City next Saturday.
