Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of this season, having informed the chair, Steve Parish, in October that he wanted a new challenge. The Austrian manager joined the club in February 2024 with Palace 15th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone, and led them to a 10th-placed finish after a strong run of six wins and a draw in their last seven league games. The following season, he guided Palace to FA Cup glory.
In addition to Glasner’s departure, captain Marc Guéhi is on the verge of joining Manchester City. The transfer fee is reported to be £20m, half of most earlier estimates, with the deal entering its final stages. Guéhi’s exit represents another major change at Selhurst Park, following the summer sale of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Liverpool goalkeeper Rafaela Borggräfe has been handed a six-game ban by the Football Association after being found to have made a racist comment involving reference to skin colour. The remark was overheard by staff and teammates as Liverpool prepared for a squad photograph. Borggräfe has served five matches of the suspension and has been ordered to enrol on an education programme.
