George North, the celebrated Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby star, has announced his retirement from the sport at the conclusion of the current season. The 34-year-old, who played as a wing or centre, revealed the decision in a video message, stating it was the right time to step away from the game.

A Storied Career

North's professional journey saw him represent Scarlets, Northampton Saints, Ospreys, and most recently, French side Provence. He enjoyed a standout stint with Northampton Saints, where he clinched the Premiership title. On the international stage, North earned 121 caps for Wales and participated in two British & Irish Lions tours, including the victorious 2013 campaign in Australia. He retired from international rugby in 2024.
