Gabriel Jesus Determined to Stay at Arsenal Amid Transfer Interest
Gabriel Jesus Set on Arsenal Stay Despite Transfer Buzz

Gabriel Jesus is determined to stay at Arsenal and see out his contract, despite heavy interest from clubs in Italy, Spain, and his native Brazil. The 29-year-old striker has only one year left on his deal, and his limited appearances this season have alerted potential suitors.

Jesus Committed to Arsenal

Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, wants to remain at the Emirates. A key factor in his decision is that his British citizenship will be issued this year. Although he is aware of the interest and wants to play regularly, he still loves the club and is not pushing for a move.

He is also motivated by a personal milestone: becoming the Brazilian with the most goals in Premier League history. Currently on 79 goals, he needs just four more to surpass Roberto Firmino's record of 82. With another year at Arsenal, he is confident of breaking that record.

Competition for Places

Arsenal may look to shake up their strike force, with Jesus competing alongside Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres. However, Jesus is in no rush to leave and even spoke about his future to ESPN Brazil last weekend after scoring against Crystal Palace.

Jesus told ESPN: "There's a lot of talk [about the future] and I'm being very honest. It's not easy for a player who is always looking to improve and help on the field with what's happening. But like I said, I'm very respectful, I have a lot of respect for the coach, and especially my teammates.

"I made my contribution when I came back. Many thought I would return calmly, that it would take longer. But, from the first Champions League game, I came back with everything, without any doubt, and played most of the games. It's not easy mentally, but I was resilient and respected the coach.

"The future belongs to God. I still have a year left on my contract with Arsenal. I want to play, I want to prove to myself that I can play at a high level. Today [against Palace], I could have scored two or three more goals. This shows me that I'm still a player who can perform at a high level even with such a serious injury. I have my head in the right place, I think every day about how to keep my head in the right place, train hard and stay focused."

The Brazil international wants to write Premier League history and is taking that very seriously. He has had four years at Arsenal and wants to see out his contract, becoming an attractive free agent option next summer.

It remains to be seen what Arsenal do this summer, but Jesus is determined to stay and contribute at a high level.
