Thomas Frank favourite to replace Pierre Sage as Crystal Palace manager
Frank favourite to replace Sage as Crystal Palace boss

Crystal Palace are set to dismiss manager Pierre Sage following Sunday's 3-1 Premier League defeat by Liverpool at Selhurst Park.

The Frenchman had faced mounting pressure after a poor run of results left Palace bottom of the table with seven points from 10 matches. Sunday's loss was their fourth consecutive league defeat.

Likely successors emerge

Former Tottenham and Brentford manager Thomas Frank is the favourite to replace Sage, with England assistant coach Anthony Barry also a strong contender. Sean Dyche and Vitor Pereira have also been linked with the vacancy.

Sage was appointed in June on a three-year contract after impressing with Lens, whom he guided to second place in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, but has struggled to get his ideas across this season.

Betting odds for the next manager

Bookmakers have installed Frank as the clear favourite at 1/2, with Barry at 6/4 and Dyche at 5/1. Other names in the running include Vitor Matos at 8/1, Vitor Pereira at 16/1, and a host of candidates at 20/1, including Kieran McKenna, Lee Carsley, Rob Edwards, Steve Cooper, Eddie Howe, Arne Slot, Gareth Southgate and Robbie Keane.

The odds, via BetVictor, are subject to change as the club moves towards a decision on Sage's successor.
