FPL GW8 Injury Update: Haaland, Saka, Szoboszlai, Gibbs-White, Calvert-Lewin

Fantasy Premier League managers face key decisions ahead of Gameweek 8, with several high-profile players carrying injuries into the weekend's fixtures. Erling Haaland is available for Manchester City, but Bukayo Saka is a major doubt for Arsenal.

Haaland Fit for Villa Clash

Haaland played no part against AEK Athens in midweek after picking up a knock in last weekend's victory over Ipswich Town, but is available to play against Aston Villa on Saturday. Speaking on Thursday, Enzo Maresca said that Haaland was "100 per cent" ready to return after his short period of rest.

Saka Doubtful After Champions League Knock

Saka won't be involved for Arsenal this weekend after he was forced off during their Champions League draw with Bayern Munich. Mikel Arteta said on Friday: "He's going for an MRI this afternoon because he had a lot of fluid in the area so it was difficult to understand the severity of the injury. We will know tomorrow. We need a few more scans and opinions from the specialists, when a player is struggling to walk off the pitch and he's restricted in his movement, they are not good signs."

Szoboszlai and Calvert-Lewin Updates

Dominik Szoboszlai is still unavailable after he suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury he picked up on international duty earlier this month. Andoni Iraola said: "Dom is going to be out this weekend. I don't think he's far but he hasn't trained with the group still, and also considering the other day that we started him and he had to go out, we will probably take one or two days more than we would last week. He's in a good place. Dom is already training outside alone and is going to train with the group, but he's not ready for this one."

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a major doubt for Leeds United ahead of Sunday's match against Sunderland due to a foot injury. Daniel Farke explained: "He got a tackle and a foul late on in the last game and he is struggling since this moment with a bruise on his foot. So, problems with this and still a question mark behind his availability."

Gibbs-White Set for Return

Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Morgan Gibbs-White is likely to be involved in Friday's game against Ipswich Town, saying: "I think you could also see that without Morgan Gibbs-White, we had a very competitive team against the champions. This gives us confidence because we lost without Morgan and with Morgan. He's an important part, but he can't win the game alone, so we need a top team performance, but it's good to have him back."
