Manchester United are gearing up for a hectic first summer transfer window under Michael Carrick, with Marcus Rashford's future at Barcelona taking a significant turn and a £100m bidding war emerging for West Ham's Jarrod Bowen.
Flick gives green light for Rashford
Hansi Flick has informed Marcus Rashford that he wants the England forward to remain at Barcelona next season, boosting the chances of a permanent move. The Barcelona manager's assurance could pressure the club's board to finalise a deal, despite their financial constraints. Barcelona have an option to make Rashford's loan permanent for around £26m, but they have tried to negotiate a lower fee. United are standing firm, especially after Rashford's impressive season with 14 goals and 14 assists. If the move falls through, United may look to sell Rashford elsewhere or reintegrate him under Carrick.
Bowen sparks £100m scramble
Should Rashford depart, Jarrod Bowen is a prime target for United. However, Liverpool and Chelsea are also monitoring the West Ham winger. West Ham may need to raise £100m from player sales if relegated, making Bowen a key asset. The 29-year-old has eight goals and ten assists this season. Even if West Ham avoid relegation, they may need to sell. United admire Bowen's versatility, but stiff competition could complicate a deal.
