The club stated that the decision offered 'the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish'. Darren Fletcher will take temporary charge for the upcoming match against Burnley.
Fernandes posted on Instagram: 'Thank you Mister! I wish the best for you and your technical staff.' The midfielder has previously voiced frustrations with United's hierarchy, accusing them of attempting to force him out of the club last month after a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
Speaking about the situation, Fernandes claimed the club were keen to cash in on him, but he decided to stay due to family reasons and the influence of Amorim. He expressed disappointment that his loyalty and commitment were not fully valued by the board.
