Everton prepare move for Johnston
Everton are preparing a bid of more than £10m for Celtic defender Alistair Johnston. The 27-year-old Canada international is aware of the interest, though no official offer has yet been submitted. Celtic hope to keep Johnston for at least another season, with his contract running until 2029. His value has increased after impressive World Cup displays for Canada.
Johnston's Celtic career
Johnston joined Celtic from Montreal in 2022 for £3m. He missed most of last season after a serious knee injury in October, but returned to play a key role as Celtic completed a double. Everton are leading the chase, but there is also interest from Fulham, Ipswich Town and other clubs in England and on the continent.
