FOX NFL reporter Erin Andrews has fired back at online trolls who criticised her appearance during a recent broadcast. The 46-year-old sideline veteran faced derogatory comments after a post-game interview with Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown following their Thanksgiving win over the New York Giants.
One user suggested Andrews was 'too old' to be a main face for the sport on FOX, claiming they could 'visibly see the wrinkles on the HD'. Andrews responded sarcastically on social media: 'Don't even think you need HD to see them. But appreciating you pointing them out bud!'
This is not the first time Andrews has had to defend herself. Earlier this month, during a San Francisco 49ers game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played in temperatures above 90 degrees, she faced inappropriate comments about her appearance. On Charissa Thompson's 'Calm Down' podcast, Andrews recounted how a user mistook her sweat for a 'glow' and another wrote 'it's hot flashes'. She retorted: 'Shut the ---- shut up! It's outside for five hours, enough!'
Thompson supported her co-host, saying: 'Don't worry about those losers, you just keep doing you.' Andrews, who rose to fame with ESPN in 2004 before joining FOX Sports, remains one of the most respected reporters in the NFL.
