Celtic have made a perfect start to their league campaign, winning their opener 1-0 at home to Dundee FC before a 5-1 victory at Kilmarnock. Dundee United, in contrast, have taken just one point from their opening two Premiership matches, drawing 1-1 at home to Rangers and losing 4-0 away to Hearts.
Martin O'Neill's side have spent over £13 million in recent days, signing midfielder Mika Baur from Paderborn and winger Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo. Both could feature in Saturday night's cup contest.
