Crystal Palace marked their first appearance in the main phase of a European competition with a comfortable 3-2 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in the Conference League. Goals from Daniel Muñoz and substitute Eddie Nketiah secured the win for Oliver Glasner's side, despite a late red card for Borna Sosa. The result extended Palace's unbeaten run to 19 games in all competitions, a new club record dating back over 50 years.
The match, played in southern Poland due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, saw Palace dominate from the outset. Muñoz opened the scoring in the first half with a looping header from a cross by Yeremy Pino. Nketiah doubled the lead after the break with a volley, also set up by Pino. Sosa was sent off for a second yellow card in the second half, but Palace's defence held firm to secure the win.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised his team's performance but remained focused on upcoming fixtures. "I'm proud that we could start the Conference League with a win, away, against very good opposition," he said. "I don't think about this run, because this already happened, so for me, it's important what comes next. And next comes Everton."
The victory was witnessed by 3,500 travelling Palace fans, who celebrated their team's historic European debut. Despite the win, Glasner acknowledged the challenge of breaking down determined opponents, as Palace are now considered favourites for the competition.
