Crystal Palace will discover their Europa League opponents this week, with the draw set to take place on Friday, 28 August. The Eagles enter the competition for the first time in their history after lifting the Conference League last season.
Palace had originally been due to play in the Europa League last season but were demoted to the Conference League after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled they had breached multi-club ownership rules. They automatically qualified for this season's Europa League as Conference League holders.
Draw details and qualified teams
Seventeen teams have directly qualified for the Europa League, with the 36-team tournament completed by seven losing teams from the Champions League play-offs and 12 teams from the Europa League play-off round. Fellow Premier League sides Sunderland and Bournemouth join Palace in the draw after securing qualification through their league position.
Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan have also qualified, alongside Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen and 10-time Ligue 1 champions Marseille. The full list of qualified teams includes AC Milan, AZ Alkmaar, Bayer Leverkusen, Bournemouth, Celta Vigo, Crystal Palace, Hoffenheim, Juventus, Marseille, Olympiacos, Real Sociedad, Rennes, Sparta Prague, Sturm Graz, Sunderland, Torreense and Union Saint-Gilloise.
Which pot are Crystal Palace in?
It is still to be confirmed, but Palace will be in either pot 2 or 3. Their current coefficient has them sat 85th in UEFA's rankings for European teams.
Each team will be drawn against eight opponents, two from each pot, meaning Palace will play two of the top-ranked clubs. They cannot face Bournemouth or Sunderland at this stage and can only play a maximum of two teams from a different association.
Potential opponents for Palace
From pot 1, Palace's potential opponents are Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Milan, AZ Alkmaar and Olympiacos, with the remaining four teams to be confirmed on Thursday evening. Real Sociedad, Marseille, Union Saint-Gilloise, Sparta Prague, Rennes, Sturm Graz, Celta Vigo, Hoffenheim and Torreense are also potential opponents.
Teams that could enter the Europa League if they lose in the Champions League play-off round include AEK Athens, Bodo/Glimt, Celje, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb, Fenerbahce, Hapoel Beer-Sheva, LASK, Levski Sofia, Lyon, NEC Breda, Sabah, Slovan Bratislava and Viking Stavanger. Teams that could qualify via the Europa League play-off round include Anderlecht, Benfica, Besiktas, Crvena Zvezda, Ferencvaros, Salzburg, Trabzonspor and Viktoria Plzen, among others.
The Europa League league phase draw takes place at 12pm BST on Friday, 28 August, with the Conference League draw commencing straight after.
