Coventry maintained their 10-point lead at the top of the Championship with a 3-1 victory over Charlton. Harvey Knibbs put the visitors ahead before Josh Eccles and Ellis Simms completed a first-half turnaround for the hosts. The defeat extended Charlton's losing streak to four games, having conceded 11 goals in their last three outings after losses to Wrexham, Southampton and Stoke.
A post-match brawl marred Stoke's 2-1 home defeat to Hull, sparked by Joe Gelhardt's last-gasp winner. Stoke manager Mark Robins accused a member of Hull's management team of inflaming the incident, saying: 'One of their management team gets involved, says something, then it all lights again. It's nothing to do with my players, but on the back of it we will get fined, which is an absolute joke.' Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic played it down, calling it 'part of football'.
Kim Hellberg made a winning start as Middlesbrough manager, his side coming from behind to beat Derby 2-1. Patrick Agyemang gave Derby an early lead, but Matt Targett levelled 15 minutes from time and Morgan Whittaker struck the winner nine minutes later. Hellberg said: 'It's a very proud moment. I'll remember this for the rest of my life.'
Elsewhere, Bristol City beat Portsmouth 1-0 with an Anis Mehmeti header, lifting them into play-off contention. Gerhard Struber called it a 'massive win for our confidence'. Millwall climbed to third after a 3-2 thriller against Southampton, with Tristan Crama scoring in the seventh minute of stoppage time to inflict a first defeat on caretaker manager Tonda Eckert.
