Manchester United were thrashed 4-1 by Como as pressure mounted on under-fire manager Michael Carrick. The Red Devils have now gone seven games without a victory in all competitions, a winless run that began with a 1-0 defeat by Manchester City in the Manchester derby.
Dominant Display in Italy
Cesc Fabregas' hosts were rampant in Italy, with United slumping to 22nd in the league phase table. The heavy defeat further deepened the scrutiny on Carrick, whose side have struggled to find form in recent weeks.
Return to Premier League Action
Carrick's side face Bournemouth at Old Trafford on their return to Premier League action on Sunday. The match offers an opportunity to halt the slide, though the pressure on the manager continues to grow.
