Chelsea produced a statement performance at Stamford Bridge, defeating 10-man Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League. The highlight was a stunning solo goal from 18-year-old Estêvão Willian, who outshone Barcelona's Lamine Yamal in a battle of teenage sensations.
Estêvão, signed from Palmeiras for £52m last summer, scored his fourth goal in as many starts. He picked up the ball on the right, dribbled past Pau Cubarsí and Alejandro Balde, and fired a powerful shot with his weaker right foot into the near post. The goal drew comparisons to Lionel Messi and marked Estêvão as the third teenager after Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé to score in his first three Champions League starts.
Chelsea took the lead in the first half through an own goal by Jules Koundé, who turned Pedro Neto's flick into his net from a corner. Barcelona's captain Ronald Araújo was sent off just before half-time after receiving a second yellow card for fouling Marc Cucurella. The visitors struggled to create chances, with Ferran Torres missing an early opportunity and Robert Lewandowski ineffective.
Enzo Maresca's side controlled the midfield through Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, and Reece James, overwhelming Barcelona's midfield trio. Chelsea moved up to fifth in the Champions League standings with the win, while Barcelona remain on seven points from five games after a poor performance.
