Liam Rosenior has finalised his backroom staff at Chelsea ahead of his first match in charge, with the new head coach overseeing his initial training session at Cobham on Friday. The Blues travel to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, where his revamped coaching team will take their places in the dugout for the first time.
Kalifa Cisse and Justin Walker, who previously worked under Rosenior at Strasbourg, have been appointed as assistant head coaches. Both men arrive from Chelsea’s sister club, which is also owned by the BlueCo consortium. Ben Warner, formerly Strasbourg’s head of analysis, joins the first-team staff as an analyst.
Calum McFarlane, who impressed Rosenior during a brief stint as Chelsea’s caretaker head coach following Enzo Maresca’s exit, moves up from the Under‑21s to become a first-team coach. His former assistant, Harry Hudson, will step into the role of Under‑21s head coach.
In further changes, Ben Roberts transitions from head of global goalkeeping to first-team goalkeeper coach, while Bernardo Cueva, a club hire from Brentford in 2024, remains on Maresca’s former staff as lead set-piece coach. The new-look coaching unit will look to begin Rosenior’s tenure with a positive result at The Valley.
