Celtic are reportedly 'monitoring' Nick Pope's situation at Newcastle United, with the England international told he is free to leave St James' Park this summer.
The Hoops are not the only club interested in the 34-year-old shot-stopper, with Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town also keeping tabs on his situation.
Celtic's summer spending and goalkeeping need
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has already splashed £17million on forward duo Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh this summer, with Hogh scoring a hat-trick in Sunday's 5-1 win at Kilmarnock.
However, further reinforcements are needed across the squad, especially in goal following Kasper Schmeichel's retirement. The first leg of Celtic's Champions League qualification play-off against Austrian champions LASK is just 10 days away.
Pope's situation at Newcastle
Pope has made over 150 appearances for Newcastle since joining four years ago, but new manager Matthias Jaissle has told him he can leave. The goalkeeper is in the final 12 months of his contract.
Speaking after Saturday's friendly victory over Valencia, Jaissle said: "I had a talk with Nick. I really appreciate what he did in his career so far. He knows exactly the situation right now and we need to deal with it in the best possible way, but I always appreciate the player and the human being behind."
