Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is set to face the media ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. The press conference, which will be held this afternoon, is expected to include the latest team news and Carrick's assessment of the upcoming match.
United's Champions League Comeback
The Reds secured a 3-2 victory over Roma in the Champions League earlier this week. United were staring at a 10th game without a win when they fell two goals behind, but they staged a second-half comeback to turn the match around.
Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty, and Matheus Cunha scored twice to seal a stunning win. Carrick's side will be looking to build on that result when they host Villa in the Premier League.
Team News and Squad Updates
Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford have not been included in the latest England squad. Rashford also spoke to United fans during a rare Q&A session before the Roma game on Tuesday night, held in the Ambassadors' Lounge at Old Trafford for supporters who had paid for premium hospitality.
The package, worth around £2,500, includes tickets for one row behind the United dugout, a meet-and-greet, a five-course dining menu, 'behind-the-scenes access' and a live Q&A. It also offers a reserved area to greet the team as they arrive on the team bus. United's website describes the offering as their "luxury" matchday experience.
Tactical Concerns Ahead of Villa
United fans were left scratching their heads when Roma took the lead at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Kobbie Mainoo was dispossessed, and Roma switched play to the right. The ball was sent into space because Diogo Dalot was sprinting back after standing on the left wing.
A simple pass was played over Ayden Heaven to Matias Soule, who was afforded time to get his finish right. Carrick will be expected to address such issues as he previews the visit of Aston Villa.
