Michael Carrick will address the media at 1.30pm this afternoon ahead of Manchester United's Premier League fixture against Bournemouth, with his future at Old Trafford the central focus of the briefing.
The head coach is under intense scrutiny after a 2-0 defeat to Como in the Champions League, which extended his side's winless run to seven matches in all competitions. United have managed just two wins in 11 games at the start of the season.
Carrick's Position and Pressure
Carrick admitted results had not been good enough and apologised for the performance in Como. His position was further weakened by Bruno Fernandes' damning criticism of the team's tactics in Italy.
MEN Sport understands Carrick will be in the dugout for Sunday's game, but it is a must-win for the Reds. The 45-year-old was given a two-year contract at the end of last season, but his reign is already hanging by a thread after a woeful start to the season hit a nadir in Como.
Injury Concerns Ahead of Bournemouth Clash
United's task is not made easier by injuries to key players. Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo have been missing of late, as have Patrick Dorgu, Benjamin Sesko and Manuel Ugarte.
Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford are also doubts, and Carrick is expected to provide updates on their fitness this afternoon. The squad is down to its bare bones, making Sunday's game a difficult one for the United boss.
Carrick is set to take charge of the Bournemouth fixture despite the mounting pressure, with questions about his future likely to dominate the press conference.
