Former Liverpool FC defender Jamie Carragher has publicly celebrated his daughter Mia's 22nd birthday, expressing pride in her burgeoning acting career. Mia recently landed the role of Katniss Everdeen in the stage adaptation of The Hunger Games, currently showing at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre in London.

Never change from that little pocket rocket you have always been my girl.' He also shared a story message: 'Happy birthday Mia. We love you more than you will ever know my girl.'

Mia received birthday wishes from former Liverpool teammates including Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, and Robbie Keane. The actress, who regularly shares updates from London, posted a bracelet reading 'Scouse Katniss' on her Instagram Story, a nod to her Liverpool roots.

The stage production is the first theatre adaptation of Suzanne Collins' bestselling book series. Collins sent Mia a personal message: 'For Mia, may the odds be ever in your favour. Thank you for your amazing work bringing Katniss to life on the stage. Love Suzanne Collins.'

Mia said of the role: 'I am so excited and honoured to be playing Katniss. This is a dream come true role and I cannot wait to see the production come to life.' The official opening night took place on 12 November 2025, with Carragher and his wife Nicola in attendance.

Separately, Carragher has been announced as an advisor to non-league side Marine FC. He told PA: 'Marine is a proper community football club with good people involved and a clear vision for where it wants to go. I've enjoyed watching the progress the club has made over recent years and I'm pleased to be able to support the club in an advisory capacity going forward.'
